Horaiji was known for these herbs, making this a fitting place to enjoy the great food and hot spring baths by the river. Incredible atmospheric rooms and great service.

Request for a tourA stylish and traditional ryokan in Yuyaonsen with an outdoor bath that's so close to the river it's almost in the river. Charming friendly staff, family run. We recommend their delicious traditional dinners and breakfasts, but breakfast-only and no meal plans are also available.

Request for a tourHisago in Yuyaonsen is right on the river, and the private outdoor bath is great for people who aren't too keen on public onsen baths. Simple and traditional, family run. The traditional style food at Hisago is incredible, but some breakfast-only or no meal plans may be available.

Request for a tourUnryuso is a classic ryokan right at the base of Mt. Horaiji's stone steps. It's the perfect place to stay before or after a day scaling the mountain, with satisfying and incredible traditional Japanese meals served in one of the many atmospheric traditional style buildings.
We love to include this ryokan in tours with a bit more time to relax in the calm of Mt. Horaiji's main temple street.

The owner often cooks with her guests, using ingredients harvested from her fields with guests. It's a great place to stay after trying experiences in Toei (and even better if you speak a little Japanese).
